Important: Not Charging Is Not Always Just the Port
A damaged USB-C port is a very common cause of Nintendo Switch OLED charging faults, but it is not the only possible cause. If your Switch OLED still does not charge after port replacement, the issue may involve the M92T36 charging IC, damaged filters, failed fuses, a battery fault, liquid damage, short circuit or previous repair damage.
If additional board-level repair is required, we will contact you before carrying out extra work.

When It May Be M92T36 Instead
If the charging port does not look physically damaged, or the console is completely dead even with a known working charger, the fault may be related to the M92T36 charging IC or another part of the charging circuit.
The M92T36 is involved in the Nintendo Switch OLED charging and power process. If it fails, the console may stop charging, fail to power on, or behave incorrectly when a charger is connected.
If the charging port looks fine but the console still has charging or power issues, please see our
Nintendo Switch OLED M92T36 Chip Replacement
service.
When It May Be P13USB Instead
If the Switch OLED charges but has docking, display output or USB-C communication problems, the fault may be related to the P13USB chip instead of the charging port.
If your console charges but does not display correctly through the dock, please see our
Nintendo Switch OLED P13USB Chip Replacement
service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Nintendo Switch OLED not charging always caused by the USB-C port?
No. The charging port is a common cause, especially if the port is loose or physically damaged, but charging faults can also be caused by the M92T36 chip, filters, fuses, battery issues, liquid damage or other board-level faults.
Can you repair a Switch OLED charging port if the pins are damaged?
Yes. If the USB-C port is damaged, loose, bent, worn or has broken pins, the charging port can usually be replaced.
What if the charging port has already been replaced elsewhere?
We can inspect previous repair work and check for lifted pads, damaged traces, missing components or other charging circuit faults. If extra work is needed, we will contact you first.
Can M92T36 failure cause a Switch OLED not to charge?
Yes. The M92T36 chip is part of the charging and power circuit. If it fails, the Switch OLED may stop charging or fail to power on correctly even if the USB-C port looks fine.
Can the charging port cause docking problems?
Yes, a damaged USB-C port can sometimes affect charging and docking. However, docking or display output problems can also be caused by the P13USB chip or other board-level faults.
Do you offer mail-in Nintendo Switch OLED charging port repairs?
Yes. You can send your Nintendo Switch OLED to CNLS Repair from anywhere in the UK using our mail-in repair service.
Is this repair covered by warranty?
Most Nintendo Switch OLED charging port repairs include a 3-month warranty covering the repair carried out. Physical damage, liquid damage, previous repair damage or unrelated faults are not covered.
