Nintendo Switch Charging Port Replacement Service
If your original Nintendo Switch is not charging, only charges when the cable is held at an angle, feels loose when connected or has visible damage inside the USB-C socket, this service is for replacement of the console’s charging port.
The USB-C port is one of the most common physical faults on the original Nintendo Switch. Damage can occur when the charger is forced, pulled or knocked while connected, or when the console is dropped while plugged in.
Please note: this listing is for the original Nintendo Switch. Switch Lite and Switch OLED models use different repair services.

Important: Not Charging Is Not Always Just the Port
A damaged USB-C port is a common cause of Nintendo Switch charging faults, but it is not the only possibility. A no-charge or no-power fault may instead involve the M92T36 power-delivery IC, damaged filters, failed fuses, the battery, liquid damage, a short circuit or previous repair damage.
If testing identifies an additional board-level fault, we will contact you before carrying out chargeable extra work.
For further diagnosis advice, read our Nintendo Switch not charging guide.
Port Damage or a Charging-Circuit Fault?
The socket is visibly bent or damaged, the cable feels loose, charging cuts in and out, or the console only charges when the cable is held at a particular angle.
The port looks physically normal but the console remains completely dead with a known-working charger, or it has signs of liquid damage, a short circuit or a previous unsuccessful repair.
Not Automatically Included
- M92T36 power-delivery IC replacement
- P13USB video/interface IC replacement
- Battery replacement
- Repair of lifted pads or damaged traces
- Liquid-damage repair
- Correction of previous repair damage
- Other unrelated console faults
When It May Be M92T36 Instead
The M92T36 is involved in USB-C power delivery and the Switch charging process. If it fails, the console may stop charging, fail to power on or behave incorrectly when a charger is connected—even when the USB-C port looks undamaged.
If diagnosis shows that the port is not responsible, we will explain the findings before proceeding with another repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Nintendo Switch not charging always caused by the USB-C port?
No. Port damage is common, particularly when the socket is loose or visibly damaged, but M92T36 failure, filters, fuses, battery faults, liquid damage and other board-level problems can produce similar symptoms.
Can you replace a port with damaged or broken pins?
Usually, yes. A loose, bent, worn or physically damaged USB-C socket can normally be removed and replaced, provided the motherboard has not suffered extensive additional damage.
What if the charging port was replaced elsewhere?
We can inspect previous work for lifted pads, damaged traces, missing components or other charging-circuit faults. We will contact you first if additional work is required.
Can M92T36 failure stop the Switch charging?
Yes. M92T36 is part of the USB-C power-delivery and charging circuit. If it fails, the Switch may stop charging or fail to power on even when the port appears undamaged.
Does this service cover Switch Lite or Switch OLED?

Do you accept charging-port repairs by post?
Yes. You can send your securely packaged Nintendo Switch to CNLS Electronics from anywhere in the UK using our mail-in repair service.

Most Nintendo Switch charging-port repairs include a three-month warranty covering the repair carried out. New physical damage, liquid damage, previous repair damage and unrelated faults are not covered.
